Dale Marcum has always loved playing a variety of sports growing up including baseball, gymnastics, football and wrestling. After high school his interest in sports and fitness moved to the more academic. He worked as an x-ray tech at a major Portland hospital while he finished chiropractic school. Chiropractic was a great bridge to stay active in the fitness industry, but it wasn’t until he sold his practice in 2010 that he found CrossFit. CrossFit brought on new excitement and sense of community that he was naturally drawn to. Learning new movements, lifts and ways to look at health and fitness was all he needed to dive in. He completed his Level 1 certification in February 2012 and recertification in 2017. In addition, he holds Mobility, Weightlifting and Kids CrossFit certifications. Dale and his wife Michelle have taught after school CrossFit Kids programs since 2013. More recently, Dale has become more focused on adding to his knowledge of weightlifting (Snatch and Clean & Jerk) and coaching these movements from both a technical and strength aspect.
