Hi, I'm Rick Bearbower, born and raised in a small town just west of Seattle. I started crossfit in 2012 at CrossFit Immense and couldn't have found a better box. I love the atmosphere that our box has of family, encouragement, self-improvement, and a little competitiveness mixed in there. I've met amazing people and have made great friends at CFI. I have a passion for CrossFit and helping others with their fitness goals.
Beyond CrossFit I grew up playing sports through high school. I love the Seattle Seahawks, my wife, family, friends, eating, and traveling. I'm always willing to try anything once. If I'm not doing a WOD I'm probably traveling, doing my other passion, flying airplanes as an airline pilot. If you've never met me and you see me around, please say hi. I love meeting new members.
I am originally from Checotah, Oklahoma. Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2007, I moved to North Carolina, where I met my husband, Dennis. We moved to Oregon in 2012, but didn't discover CrossFit Immense until April 2013.
After finishing our first workout at CFI, I instantly realized that I found my passion. I've always wanted to be a personal trainer, but things changed after completing my first WOD. My vision was refocused: "I want to coach CrossFit." I became a CF-L1 trainer in December of 2013, and have had the incredible opportunity of coaching at Immense ever since. My mission was to become more fit through CrossFit. In doing so, I've established such amazing friendships that I would consider many of these CFI athletes my family, or as Greg Glassman put it, "my tribe."
Crossfit and CFI have changed my life, a true blessing, and I am forever grateful.
